Michael B. Jordan shared his thoughts on The Thomas Crown Affair with Deadline:
“That’s a baby of mine that I’ve been wanting to make for a really long time, so I’m excited about it,”
“I think it’s not going to be what exactly people are expecting as well. When you’re re-imagining something, it’s not a remake. It’s not a reboot. It’s a re-imagination, and I’m really excited about it because I really care about this movie and its title.”
The first trailer for the actor’s second film as a director was released today, giving the audience a chance to see what he was talking about. In addition, Jordan develops and plays the part that Steve McQueen popularized.
The main character of the movie is a dapper art thief (Jordan) who faces off against an astute insurance investigator (Adria Arjona).
A wealthy playboy who steals artwork was the main character of the 1968 film. Faye Dunaway, who played the insurance investigator who is every bit his match in a seductive game of chess, co-starred in it.
The protagonist in Pierce Brosnan’s 1999 adaptation meets his match in Rene Russo’s role as a detective.
Jordan’s version’s plot is still unknown, but the video that was shown at CinemaCon earlier this year showed the two leads playing cat and mouse as they fell in love against a backdrop of elegant towns, European castles, and museums. Jordan is flying across the skies, going up and down wires.
