According to CBS Pittsburgh, veteran running back Miles Sanders was detained in the Pittsburgh region in June on suspicion of DUI, citing court documents.
Sanders, a free agent who played for Dallas in 2025, was allegedly accused of driving carelessly and under the influence of alcohol or a controlled substance on June 8 in Churchill Boro.
According to the report, police also found marijuana in his vehicle. Phil DiLucente, Sanders’ agent, told KDKA-TV:
“This is a private matter that has not even reached the preliminary hearing stage and there will be no further comment,”
According to the criminal complaint, an officer discovered Sanders “slumped over” in the driver’s seat of a Lexus that was discovered in the middle of William Penn Highway.
According to CBS Pittsburgh, the officer stated that they tried to rouse Sanders, but he was “in and out consciousness and “very sluggish.”
According to reports, Sanders, 29, was unable to respond to inquiries. Sanders allegedly “performed poorly” on field sobriety tests and tested positive for alcohol, according to the police.
According to the article, he was eventually placed under arrest and is scheduled to appear in court in September. Although Sanders was born in Pittsburgh, he has played in Pennsylvania for the most of his collegiate and professional careers.
Before being chosen by the Eagles in the second round of the 2019 NFL Draft, the running back excelled for Penn State from 2016 to 2018.
