Brittany Boltinhouse, the 2026 Miss North Carolina USA, lost her title barely over a month after allegedly racist old social media posts surfaced.
Boltinhouse agreed to resign as Miss North Carolina after her behavior went against the pageant organization’s rules, according to Miss USA CEO Thom Brodeur on Wednesday.
The organization “does not tolerate racism, homophobia, transphobia nor language that strips any person of their dignity,” according to Brodeur, who declined to provide specifics.
But according to the NC Beat, Boltinhouse allegedly used the alias Sosa the Stallion to write a number of racially offensive social media posts between 2017 and 2019.
The news website claims that Boltinhouse called herself “toxic” in the posts and frequently used the n-word.
Brodeur stated that he acted on the information as soon as he received it and that he decided to remove Boltinhouse after she shown the behavior for a long time.
Additionally, Brodeur clarified that the title of Miss USA is a position of trust given by his organization and accepted by a lady who upholds particular criteria in public, not a trinket.
Boltinhouse is “still a human being” after losing her crown, according to Brodeur, who also noted that she has been “named, examined, and judged in public in a way that most of us would not survive.”
