A one-year contract has been reached between veteran Von Miller and the Dallas Cowboys, a team that had been connected to other pass-rushers during the spring and summer.
The 37-year-old, who was born and raised in the Dallas suburb of DeSoto, Texas, talked candidly about his return home during an appearance on the “Nightcap” program. He said:
“They were the first team to contact me, like a week before training camp”. “It just seemed right to me. I live here in the offseason, my mom and dad are here, my kids are here. I’ve always had blue in my heart since I was a little boy. I always paid attention to the Dallas Cowboys. My earliest memory of football includes the Dallas Cowboys. I heard my daddy screaming in the back, and I ran back there to see what was going on, and he was screaming because the Dallas Cowboys had scored a touchdown. That’s my earliest memory of football, and to be back home, it’s a dream within a dream.”
Miller most recently played for the Washington Commanders during the previous season. According to ESPN statistics, he led Washington with nine sacks over the course of 17 games. In contrast, no Dallas player recorded more than 8.5 sacks in the 2025 season.
