Emergency Medical Service personnel responded to a report regarding a person in “cardiac arrest” and a “unresponsive female,” and Hayden Panettiere was discovered dead inside a South Carolina home by a friend.
At 1:51 PM on Sunday, Hayden’s companion contacted 911 to report that the actress was in cardiac arrest and unconscious inside the Greenville, South Carolina, home.

It’s unknown if Brian Hickerson, Hayden’s intermittent boyfriend, made the call. As soon as Greenville police and emergency medical personnel arrived, they tried to revive Hayden with “advanced cardiac life support.” According to our sources, this treatment expands on CPR by using breathing tubes, specific medications, and cardiac rhythm monitoring.
Hayden was reportedly given chest compressions by paramedics as well, but nothing was able to revive her, and at 2:32 PM, she was declared dead.
The circumstances surrounding Hayden’s death did not seem odd, according to police, and there were no early indications of foul play. To ascertain the reason and manner of death, the Greenville County coroner will conduct an autopsy on Monday.
Hayden was most well-known for her parts in the popular television series “Heroes” after starting her career as a child star in TV and movies.
