Deion Sanders has officially upgraded his footwear situation.
Coach Prime now has 10 toes again, thanks to a surprise gift from Colorado. And yes, this is probably the most unexpected football-related gift of the year.
Sanders’ son revealed the surprise in a video posted to social media on Wednesday. The gift was a pair of prosthetic toes for the coach, who had two toes amputated in 2021.
So, after several years of missing toes, Coach Prime is getting a little extra hardware.

Apparently, Sanders’ family decided to build his foot roster too.
He’s “10 toes down again” thanks to the new addition, which will hopefully lead to a more comfortable everyday life.
He showed off the aftermath of that surgery in an interview with Shannon Sharpe in 2022. Sanders’ big toe and second toe are no longer on his foot.
Deion Sanders had two toes on his left foot amputated due to blood clots stemming from a previous surgery… Sanders was hospitalized for around a month in the middle of last season when the Tigers finished 11-2.
He had a dislocated toe along with an inflamed nerve… As he healed, his toes began to darken under the bandages.
The 54-year-old Sanders underwent several surgeries. He developed a femoral arterial blood clot. He also had compartment syndrome, where his leg swelled up, and doctors had to flay open his leg to drain fluid. Sanders later had his big toe and the second toe amputated.
The series of surgeries forced Sanders to cart around on the sidelines while coaching the Tigers. He says the amputations were far better than the alternative.

The surprise gift also comes with plenty of humor because, well, this is Deion Sanders we are talking about. The Hall of Famer has never exactly been shy about his personality.
If anyone can turn prosthetic toes into a social media moment, it is Coach Prime.
And honestly, the man has earned the right to celebrate.
