Years after his passing, the family of NBA icon Elgin Baylor remains at odds over his fortune. and things are becoming unpleasant.
Elgin’s daughter, Alison Clayton, filed a petition alleging that her stepmother, Elaine Baylor, is concealing information regarding her inheritance, according to court documents that TMZ was able to get.
On March 22, 2021, Elgin passed away at the age of 86. and Alison claimed that her stepmother, who was with Elgin at the time, failed to inform Alison or her brother about their father’s passing and has since declined to provide any details regarding the inheritance.
Alison claimed that although she relocated to the East Coast in 1991, she continued to communicate with her father until about 2018.
She claimed that despite being aware of her long-standing contact with her father, her stepmother chose to remove her from the situation. Elaine has not yet addressed the matter.
Elgin, who was selected first overall in the 1958 NBA draft and spent 14 seasons with the Lakers, is a member of the Basketball Hall of Fame. He is regarded by many as one of the greatest athletes of all time.
