Austin Reaves may be getting paid like a basketball superstar, but apparently, that $185 million contract does not include unlimited abs.
The Los Angeles Lakers guard is currently enjoying some vacation time with his girlfriend, Jenna Barber. But Barber apparently decided relaxation was not enough. She also needed to remind the internet that Reaves can struggle with things that have absolutely nothing to do with basketball.
Barber posted a funny video of Reaves attempting a workout on Monday. And let’s just say the Lakers star was not exactly doing well.
Reaves looked like he was fighting for his life.
The funny part is that this is the same players Lakers fans expect to run the offense, hit big shots, and carry serious responsibility next season. Yet here he was battling through a workout like his trainer had personally offended him.
The video showed Reaves and several others the couple was on vacation with that was captioned, “💪 Phys ED 😅 / Girls had way better form”. Reaves can be seen working hard to complete a set of crunches.
A few seconds later, the camera showed him laying on the ground, visibly exhausted and doused in sweat, after the set ended.
Barber appeared to be reposting a video that was initially posted by Ed Streit, who is an LA-based strength coach.
Girlfriends have a special talent for finding the exact moment when their boyfriend looks ridiculous. Then they record it and post it, and then millions of people get to enjoy the evidence.
It’s unclear exactly where Reaves, Barber, and everyone else they’re with are on vacation at right now. It’s clearly somewhere along the ocean with a beautiful view, as Barber has posted several stories showing them hanging out in the water together.
Reaves and Barber are high school sweethearts, as they’ve been dating since 2014 after meeting at Cedar Ridge High School in New Jersey.
Both of them keep their relationship relatively private, although most of Barber’s social media posts (which are rare) include her and Reaves together.
You can have an NBA contract worth $185 million, play for the Lakers, and become a fan favorite, but if your girlfriend catches you struggling with sit-ups, you are officially content.
