Ryan Clark is not exactly sending ESPN a thank-you card.
The former Pittsburgh Steelers defensive back opened up about his very public firing from ESPN, and he clearly still has some things to say.
Clark appeared on The Breakfast Club in New York City this week. During the conversation, he discussed his departure from the network in July.
And according to Clark, ESPN did not simply fire him. He believes the network tried to humiliate him on the way out.

That is quite the parting gift.
“Everybody that got laid off got told on Tuesday. Only one person got told on Monday on set,” Clark told the hosts. “Me.”
He added … “Only one person was let go on air. Only one person’s firing or layoff was leaked to a far-right conservative sports site. Me. So when all those things line up, it lets you know that everything is not on the up-and-up.”
Clark doesn’t think that was an accident.
“But it was also purposeful, and it was also meant in my opinion to humiliate, right? And in leaking it to OutKick, you now know if anybody is going to curry favor for you in this decision, it’s going to be them. Because it’s me.”
ESPN may have closed the door. Clark apparently decided to keep talking through it.
And social media is happily holding the door open.
For now, the former NFL player is making it clear that he does not believe his departure was handled respectfully.
Whether people agree with his version or not, one thing is certain: Ryan Clark is not leaving quietly.
Apparently, retirement from football was easier than retiring from sports-media drama.
