Amy Jones Arrested And Charged For Posing As Substitute Teacher To Insult Students

Amy Jones, 23, has been arrested and charged after authorities in Milwaukee say she allegedly posed as a substitute teacher at Rufus King International High School and caused chaos inside a classroom.

And apparently, she was not there to teach algebra.

According to authorities, the bizarre incident happened on September 24. Jones allegedly entered the school pretending to be a substitute teacher before launching into a series of inappropriate and harmful descriptions aimed at students.

Nothing says “I have made excellent life choices” quite like allegedly sneaking into a school just to insult teenagers.

Jones has been charged with one count of impersonating a public employee. She also faces five counts of exposing a child to harmful descriptions.

When questioned by the authorities she allegedly said she carried out the stunt because she ‘was bored’, adding that she ‘hates kids’ and ‘just wanted to f*** around.’

Jones, a former student at the school, is said to have scouted the premises for a week before carrying out the stunt, getting past security by blending in with other students.

She then accused of returning on a day when eight teachers were absent and ‘got lucky’ as only seven substitutes had signed in, before going to a classroom set up by another teacher, who stayed with her for 20 minutes.

However, after that teacher left she allegedly proceeded to organise students by race and gender, insult them using racial slurs and derogatory statements, and use explicit language — as well as playing loud rap music and bragging about being OK with going to jail.

A 16-year-old boy in the class told authorities that she also called one student ‘fat boy’ and told two white pupils that ‘they were the type to start school shootings’, Independent reports.

Most people who dislike children simply avoid birthday parties, playgrounds and family gatherings. Jones allegedly chose a much more complicated strategy. She allegedly walked into a high school and pretended to be someone responsible for educating students.

That is one way to turn a bad mood into a criminal case.

Fox6 News Milwaukee reported that Jones was said to have asked if any of the students had a vape or marijuana as the class ‘was so f****** lame and annoying’.

She was reportedly escorted from the school after students raised the alarm and principal Doreen Badillo became aware of what was going on.

Badillo said in a statement to the school community that while Jones did go through the school’s safety scan, the school office ‘did not follow proper district protocol in validating the individual as a substitute teacher’ and that the matter was under investigation.

The five counts involving harmful descriptions show that authorities are taking the alleged conduct seriously. The fact that multiple students were allegedly affected also makes the situation more disturbing.

Jones now has to deal with the consequences of an incident that allegedly began with a very simple emotion: she did not like kids.

A further statement, sent to the school community on October 5, said: ‘Since our first communication, our initial investigation determined that this individual involved was a former student recognized by staff. She was not a substitute teacher.

‘We did involve our Milwaukee Police Department school resource officers (SROs) the day that this occurred. The district’s Title IX coordinator was also notified. In addition to any police actions resulting from this situation, the district is continuing with its own investigation.

‘We will continue to take all appropriate action to ensure that Rufus King International High School remains a safe and welcoming place for our students and staff.’

Jones is scheduled for a preliminary court hearing on October 20 and, according to the Independent, could face a maximum 21 years in prison if she is convicted.

For the students, the bizarre episode is likely one they will remember for a long time. For everyone else, it is another reminder that you probably should not impersonate a teacher when your main lesson plan is apparently insulting the class.
