Former Eagles head coach Andy Reid was introduced to the media today as the new head coach of the Kansas City Chiefs. Reid was nothing but cordial to his former team and city in Philadelphia, and spoke about how he looks forward to a great future.
Reid was greeted like a rock star in Kansas City, and according to Philly Mag, Reid says “change is a good thing.”
“I have nothing but good things and good experiences in Philadelphia,” said Reid. “Phenomenal people. Absolutely phenomenal people.
“I can leave Philadelphia saying that I gave it my all. I can leave Philadelphia saying we had some great years there, man. I mean some great years. We were there a long time – I was there a long time. We were blessed to be there. Sometimes change is good. I think it is going to be tremendous for the Philadelphia Eagles, and then on the other hand I think it is going to be tremendous for the Kansas City Chiefs.”
Chiefs CEO Clark Hunt addressed the media as well.
“Andy is a proven winner that built an outstanding program in Philadelphia over the last 14 years.”
Reid was asked about taking the year off and if he needed any rest.
“I’m ready to go, man. I’m ready to go,” said Reid. “This is what I do. Never took that into consideration.”
Andy Reid will address the Philadelphia media at some point today. Here is his first formal interview with Kansas City media since being named head coach.
