By all accounts it appears Mark Sanchez has played his last down for the New York Jets. After needing surgery to repair a shoulder injury and seeing Geno Smith have some good games as the Jets” starter, logic would tell you the two sides will part ways after this season.
The interesting thing is just what exactly happened between Sanchez and management after the shoulder injury occurred.
According to Brian Costello of the New York Post, Sanchez reportedly blew up at general manager John Idzik right after the game.
Sanchez shouted at general manager John Idzik in the trainer’s room after the game, according to witnesses. Sanchez was furious the team put him in the game when it did — in the waning minutes of a meaningless contest behind a second-string offensive line.
There has been tension between the organization and Sanchez since then, according to sources. With the season-ending surgery he has likely played his last game for the Jets.
I will say I was interested to see just who was going to win the starting quarterback job before Sanchez suffered his injury. Sounds like he just let his emotions boil over at Idzik after the game.
