It seems the Titans interest for a new head coach is circling around the Bengals organization. They had already asked for permission to speak to Bengals offensive coordinator Jay Gruden, and now CBS Sports reports that they will be interviewing the Bengals defensive coordinator Mike Zimmer this week. There have also been rumors that the Redskins are also interested in Zimmer, but he would only say that two teams were interested in him.
“I believe I’ve gotten better at it. The first one I did was a long time ago with the Rams. I didn’t do a very good job. It’s like coaching, I guess, I think you know when you do good and when you don’t when you walk out. I was told that I did good in the other ones, so we’ll see. They may not be looking for me and whatever. They may want an offensive coach, or they may want a different style guy, who knows?”
The Titans reportedly also has interest in candidates from three other teams, including Minnesota, Washington and Detroit, and ESPN’s Adam Schefter also said they would interview Ravens offensive coordinator Jim Caldwell. It will be interesting to see which direction the team chooses to go in, since there have been several prior reports of a possible organizational clean sweep.
