It may be 2014 but thankfully the Mets are still the Mets, so it should come as no surprise that the team took the field in the top of the 1st on Opening Day without their first baseman, who was conspicuously absent.

Ike Davis eventually took his spot at first, and the lolMets went on to lose the game 9-7 to the Nationals at Citi Field. Of course, any story about a Mets fail requires us by law to post this Family Guy clip, which is funny because it’s true.
