I guess we have to take back some of the stuff we said about Chad Johnson having trouble with the Patriots playbook, because rookie QB Jimmy Garoppolo has expressed how hard it can be to learn the offensive playbook.
“I can’t even describe it to you,” Garoppolo said . “Unbelievable amount. Getting a little sleep deprived, but that’s a good thing in this business.”
He went on to talk about the differences between this playbook and his college one.
It’s a completely different offense, to be honest. It’s like learning Spanish compared to English. It’s like a completely different language.”
Jimmy did express that he will pick up the offense.
“Very quickly I think,” Garoppolo said. “It’s going to be a process and a huge learning curve. But I’m excited for it. It’s a unique experience. It’s a tremendous offense and a tremendous offense to play for.”
Sounds like Garoppolo is taking all of the right steps towards being a quality NFL QB and possibly Tom Brady’s successor.
