And the Carmelo Anthony Sweepstakes rages on.
By the end of today, the free-agent forward will have met with the Chicago Bulls, Houston Rockets, Dallas Mavericks, Los Angeles Lakers and New York Knicks while attempting to decide where he will continue his NBA career.
While many believed the Knicks would be the last to meet and pitch Anthony, ESPN’s Dave McMenamin is reporting that a certain superstar guard will be getting the last word with Melo.
Kobe Bryant intends to meet with Carmelo Anthony personally following Melo's meeting w/ NYK in LA later today, according to a league source

While Kobe was unable to meet with Anthony during the Lakers initial pitch, it bodes well for Los Angeles that Bryant will get the final word with Anthony. In a situation like this where plenty of teams are vying for the All-Star’s services, speaking with a player who has been through the process and is a close friend could help push Anthony towards the purple and gold.
