Not sure why the Cowboys did this, but season ticket holders for “America’s Team” received an added bonus with their 2014 packages…playoff tickets, including the NFC Championship game, which Dallas hasn’t been to since 1995. This has Jerry Jones written all over it.

Cowboys become first team in US major sports history to send playoff tickets to fans before start of season

Included with the tickets was a letter outlining the procedure for the playoff tickets.
“Included in this package are your 2014 playoff tickets and parking (if applicable) for two potential home games at AT&T Stadium,” read a letter that came with the season tickets. “The barcodes on the tickets will be activated when a home playoff game is clinched and the tickets have been paid in full.”
After going 8-8 the past three seasons, and fielding a defense that looks worse on paper than their 32nd ranked defense from last year, it’s safe to say there’s zero chance that Cowboys season ticket holders will have to worry about using those playoff ducats. Actually less than zero, if that’s even possible.
