New York Giants general manager Jerry Reese believes his club is two core players away from returning to prominence in the NFC East.
Luckily for Reese, those two players are veteran leaders with star potential. Eli Manning led the NFL last season with 27 interceptions. Jason Pierre-Paul’s season never materialized after having offseason back surgery the year prior. Reese believes “if both guys play well, the Giants will be really good.”
“There are two guys on our team that have to play really well and it’s Eli Manning and Jason Pierre-Paul,” Reese said, via Don Banks of SI.com. “If those guys play well, I think we’ve got a chance to be really good.”
The Giants always have a shot when Manning plays well, and they need JPP to return to his dominant ways and replace Justin Tuck as the leader of the front seven.
