NASCAR driver Tony Stewart will not face Criminal charges in the death of fellow driver Kevin Ward Jr. The Ontario County (N.Y.) grand jury looked at enhanced videos of the incident, and decided not to press charges against Tony Stewart. The night of August 9th, 2014 Tony Stewart struck and killed Kevin Ward Jr. when Ward stepped out of his car during the middle of the race. NASCAR has now implemented new rules forbidding drivers from leaving their cars during a race to proactively prevent an incident like this happening again. Stewart, who skipped three races following Ward’s death, has participated in the last four Sprint Cup Series events; including last Sunday’s Sylvania 300 at New Hampshire Motor Speedway, where Stewart raced five days after learning that the case would go before a grand jury.
