Peruvian soccer is a tough gig, especially for 23-year old Josimar Pacheco. After a game in the city of Huaraz, Pacheco left the stadium and was attacked by some of the opposing teams supporters. Pacheco was knocked out cold before being rescued by teammates. They threw him into a car and drove him to the hospital.

Speaking to police after the attack, Mr Pacheco said: ‘I was separated from the rest of the team and remember somebody grabbing my arm and pulling me into the mob. ‘There were just blows raining down on me then, they were punching me and kicking me from every angle,’ he added.
Pacheco’s team was playing against the Deportivo ADA club. The worst part of the story is that last year when Pacheco played for another team against the same Deportivo ADA club, the rival teams supporters stormed the pitch and beat him up. This one team’s fans really have it out for the kid. Pacheco will make a full recovery but may stop playing soccer.
