Teachers are getting exposed left and right for having inappropriate relations with students. Seems like it’s a new story like this popping up everyday.
Via The Daily Mail:
A former high school drama instructor from Florida has lost her teaching license for kissing a 17-year-old male student during a screening of the movie Aladdin.
The illicit romance between Jessica Rivera, a married Lake Worth High School teacher, and the boy took place in November 2013, according to police, and involved ‘prolonged kissing,’ the exchange of explicit text messages and inappropriate touching.
Rivera, 30, was terminated in February 2014, but no criminal charges were filed because she and the student had not have sex together, according to a state report.
When interviewed by investigators, the 17-year-old Lake Worth High student said he first got to know Rivera when he volunteered to do the lighting for a school play in October and November 2013.
According to the teen, before long Rivera began sending him text messages saying she wanted to kiss him and that her marriage was on the rocks.
After the play was over, Jessica Rivera hosted a party to celebrate the theater production where she brought a cake and a DVD of the Disney classic Aladdin.
While the students watched the movie, Rivera and the 17-year-old boy sat in the back of the auditorium and French kissed for a quarter of the 90-minute animated feature, or about 20 minutes, according to the state report.
The boy later told police that the married drama teacher also put her hand on his upper thigh over his pants.
Rivera and the 17-year-old had no further physical contact.
When questioned by police about her encounter with the student, the 30-year-old educator admitted to the incident and acknowledged that she knew what she was doing with the minor was wrong.
Crazy.
