This should be solid, with Dwayne Johnson hopefully highlighting everything the prospects go through to make their dreams come true.
The former University of Miami defensive tackle is set to create a documentary series about college football players’ intense preparation for the NFL draft.
According to Variety — the series will follow some of the unique stories of the players and agents — their unique four-month battle through the combine and various events to live the dream.
The pro-wrestler-turned-actor-producer (and former University of Miami defensive tackle) and producing partner Dany Garcia’s Seven Bucks Productions have partnered with production company Left/Right and sports agency Athletes First to create a documentary series about college football players’ intense preparation for the NFL draft.
“As a former high school All-American football player and collegiate National Champion at University of Miami, I know how determined and relentlessly hard these athletes work and we’re inspired to share their stories. This series will show the commitment and heart required to achieve your dreams,” said Johnson.
Garcia added that they were excited to show audiences “this level of story-telling at such a critical time in these athletes’ lives. Raw, passionate and honest, the docu-series aligns perfectly with our Seven Bucks brand ethos and mission.”
Johnson is winning right now — gaining critical acclaim as a sports financial manager in the HBO comedy “Ballers,” which he and Garcia also produce.
Earlier this week, it was announced that The Rock’s company also got the green-light on a marching band docu-soap for Fuse.
