Naesean Howard was dismissed from Syracuse in September of 2014. He is back in the news now after he was arrested for stabbing two former teammates on Saturday.
Details from Syracuse.com:
Officers went to a stabbing at 321 Slocum Ave. shortly after 6 p.m. Two men, 21, had been stabbed multiple times, police said. One victim was driven to the hospital in a private car while the other was taken to Upstate University Hospital by ambulance. Police don’t consider their injuries to be life-threatening.
Police charged Howard with two counts of assault in the second degree and criminal possession of a weapon in the fourth degree. Howard, 20, was held in the Onondaga County Justice Center.
Chauncey Scissum and Corey Winfield were the two men stabbed, both current defensive backs for Syracuse. Police believe Howard knew the two men.
Winfield is in stable condition, according to an Upstate University Hospital spokesperson. Scissum’s condition is unclear as the spokesperson could not confirm his status.
