Shaquille O’Neal spent some time speaking with a small group of media members (myself included) prior to being honored by the Jefferson Awards Foundation for his humanitarian efforts on Monday evening. Shaq, ever the gregarious celebrity, held court for approximately fifteen minutes and answered questions on a lot of different topics.
Many of you remember Shaq Diesel, Shaq Fu: Da Return, You Can’t Stop the Reign and Respect. These were Shaq’s four solo studio projects. At the time, many people clowned Shaq and his efforts at rockin’ the mic. But if you go back and listen, he’s got skills.
When asked whether he was the greatest NBA rapper of all time, Shaq obviously responded yes and when asked about Damian Lillard (aka Dame D.O.L.L.A.) he said he doesn’t compete with earthlings. Shaq was really on this “I’m from another world” thing last night. Who could argue? The man is gigantic and can do things we mere mortals can only dream of.
In discussing his rap skills, Shaq brought up Biggie, Nas, HOV, and Erick Sermon. Flip the page to see the video of Shaq talking about his encounters with these legends of rap.
