Last week, T.I. was arrested at his gated neighborhood in Atlanta after a security guard wouldn’t let him inside. T.I. said that the guard was asleep when he tried to get in. When police arrived, they didn’t bother to hear T.I.’s side of the story of the way he was treated and arrested him right away.
TMZ caught up with the king at Reagan National Airport and asked if his political activism played a part in the way he was treated in this situation.
“It’s a premature conclusion to jump to and it’d be very presumptuous to do so,” said T.I. “I ain’t trippin. Everything happens in God’s time,” as he shrugged when asked if security apologized to him.
T.I also defended his innocence and said that he shouldn’t be treated the way he was in his own place of residence.
“I’m a taxpaying citizen, a resident of that community and I pay my homeowner’s association fees. I shouldn’t have to be a celebrity to be considered. I have rights. It’s their job to know who I am.”
T.I. has done a great job of being a voice in using his platform to address the police brutality and racism that occurs in America on a daily basis. He is also almost done with his 10th studio album ‘The Dime Trap.’
