Tiger Woods is using an unique approach at Shinnecock Hills this weekend to stay ahead of the curve on his U.S. Open competition.
Instead of getting a hotel room like these regular golfers out here, Tiger opted to travel to the U.S. Open by his private yacht.
Tiger’s yacht is 6,500 square feet, and it sleeps about 21 people, comfortably.
The yacht comes equipped with a gym, jacuzzi, and home-movie theater.
This bad boy is reportedly worth somewhere in the ballpark of $20 million, and it cost another $2 million per year just to maintain the boat and its nine man crew.
Tiger’s ex-wife Elin wisely turned down this luxury yacht during their divorce settlements, and Tiger wasn’t able to get any other millionaires to take it off his hands.
So, this weekend, Tiger is making the best of a bad situation.
The Sag Harbor Yacht Club charges a daily fee of $7 per foot. That means Tiger Woods is looking at $1,085 per day during this weekend’s major to park his boat.
Tiger could have saved some money by docking his yacht in public waters for $6 per day for $930 per night, but we all know that Tiger Woods is just not built like that.
