This is the kind of story that actually makes you want to shout out: “Blue Lives Matter!” because this man right here was absolutely and unequivocally a menace to our society. We salute you for this one Detroit 5-0.
According to The Detroit News, Jaylon Kerley, pleaded guilty to food law violations for spitting into the customers’ pizzas that he was cooking at the Detroit Tigers’ Game, where Kerley works as a food vendor.
Kerley thought it be pretty funny if he had someone recording him, while he hawked a big, fat loogie into the sauce of one of the pizzas he was making for a customer. Now, Kerley is looking at four years in prison, for that four seconds of fame.
Kerley’s lawyer says he’s very remorseful for his actions, and completely understands that what he did was plain foul. In addition, Kerley’s judge mandated that Kerley get tested for HIV and other communicable diseases too, and the 21-year-old turned out to be clean—thank god for everyone’s sake.
The incident occurred on September 21, 2018, when the Tigers were matched up against the Kansas City Royals at Comerica Park.
All jokes aside though, while this violation is still completely disgusting, this young man has been extremely apologetic for his conduct. Four years does seem pretty excessive. The public shame and losing his job at the park should be more than enough to teach Kerley a lesson.
We can’t be too far jaded from the trials and tribulations of working in the food industries during our own youths. People just get on your nerves sometimes—flat out. There’s always three sides to a story. The fact that Kerley was mixing his own spit in so deep in that sauce tells us (at the very least) that this customer more than likely had it coming to him or her.
