Jalen Brunson chose to take a significant pay cut earlier this offseason, as if he hadn’t already won over the Knicks’ supporters. His choice allowed the squad to add Mikal Bridges, and they still have room to add another important player. When Udonis Haslem, the legendary Miami Heat player, saw this, he couldn’t stop raving about the Knicks star and even ventured a daring prediction about his future.
After putting down a staggering $113 million, Brunson recently inked a four-year, $156 million contract. Whether the Knicks win or lose, Haslem feels that this action ensures the team will look after him in his senior years.
Jalen Brunson praised by Udonis Haslem
As he approached the latter years of his work, he anticipated that they would ensure he received a substantial salary. Haslem stated:
“He’s going to be a Knick forever!… He going to be a Knick for the rest of your [his] career. And when it’s time, We [the Knicks] gon make sure we take care of you forever!”
The Knicks now owe Jalen Brunson two things as a result of his enormous contribution to the franchise.
To help the team win it all, the first thing to do is to make sure he is surrounded by the right team. And as Haslem stated, the second is to provide him with enormous salary after his present deal expires.
Ignoring $113 million is not a funny thing. If used properly, that kind of money can be the foundation of riches for future generations.
