LeBron James and Bronny Refute the Claims in the 2024 Lawsuit

LeBron James and his son Bronny’s lawyers have refuted “each and every allegation” in a lawsuit filed in October that claimed they were involved in an automobile accident outside of Los Angeles in 2022.

April Almanza Lopez and Kiara Rae McGillen filed the case, alleging that James and his son, who is currently a teammate of the Los Angeles Lakers, collided with them on a highway in Littlerock, California, in November 2022.

According to Lopez and McGillen, their car was damaged and depreciated, and they sustained unspecified injuries that need continuous care. They want damages that aren’t defined and will be decided at trial.

Attorneys for James and Bronny, both 20 years old, stated in a February 20 filing in Los Angeles County Superior Court that they “deny each and every allegation contained in the complaint and further deny that plaintiffs have been damaged in the sum or sums alleged, or any other sum or sums, or at all.”

14 defenses to the arguments raised in the complaint were then detailed in the document. According to one defense, if Lopez and McGillen were hurt or their car was damaged, it was “by persons other than these answering defendants.”

James’ lawyers requested in the filing that the judge find in their favor and grant them reimbursement for the costs incurred as a result of the action.

The California Highway Patrol and the Palmdale Sheriff’s Station notified ESPN on Tuesday that they have no information regarding the reported collision.
