A couple of Oklahoma State University students are in trouble after posting a picture of themselves in blackface on Martin Luther King, Jr Day.
The university’s African American Association discovered the photo posted on Instagram. Posted under the handle, abbey.lieveicanfly, the photo has since been deleted, but not before someone captured a screenshot.
Either they are racist or they are so covered in white privilege it didn’t occur to them how that photo would be perceived on the MLK Holiday. I am leaning towards the latter seems more like ignorance than racisms, but shows you how deep rooted the privilege is.
