Percy Harvin said last month that he wants to be more than just a gadget player on offense for the Bills, yet his latest request could leave him as the gadget guy permanently.
According to the Bills official website, Harvin approached Rex Ryan about moonlighting on the defensive side of the ball “here and there” during camp.
Rex said Harvin came to him about lining up at CB here & there. Ryan said he'll line up there from time 2 time & see what he can do. #Bills

It would definitely allow Harvin to help the team in all phases, but it will do little to dispel the notion that he’s just a really athletic player who needs the ball in space to succeed.
