The digital battlefield of hip-hop has a new, formidable entrant. Three-division boxing champion Claressa Shields has officially stepped into the ongoing feud between G-Unit mogul 50 Cent and veteran rapper Papoose, firing back at 50 Cent following a series of provocative social media posts.
The tension, which has simmered for months, boiled over this week after 50 Cent utilized his preferred weapon of choice: Instagram trolling. The “In Da Club” rapper shared a vintage clip of Remy Ma, Papoose’s former partner, discussing past relationships in a disparaging light. To sharpen the jab, 50 Cent included AI-manipulated footage, a tactic both sides have recently employed to mock one another.
Shields, who is in a relationship with Papoose, did not mince words in her defense. Taking to X (formerly Twitter) and Snapchat, the Olympic gold medalist lambasted 50 Cent’s behavior, suggesting the rapper’s antics are a cry for attention.

“These rappers don’t get they a** beat enough, that’s the problem,” Shields posted in a message captured by The Neighborhood Talk. She later added, “Mfs ain’t never been the best in their field no matter what era of their career! So 50 can stfu for real!”
The dispute took a personal turn when 50 Cent alleged that Shields was forced to purchase her own luxury goods because Papoose lacked the funds to provide them. Shields dismissed the claims on Snapchat, characterizing 50 Cent’s attacks as “clout chasing” and suggesting the mogul seek therapy for “heartbreak.”
The Roots of the Rivalry
While the current flare-up is centered on AI videos and personal insults, industry insiders trace the friction back to 50 Cent’s public flirtations toward Remy Ma during her high-profile split from Papoose. The situation was further complicated by a secondary conflict between Remy Ma and Shields.
Papoose has remained active in the lyrical exchange, recently releasing “Let’s Rap About It,” a diss track aimed at the G-Unit leader. While 50 Cent has yet to offer a formal musical response, his relentless social media output indicates he has no intention of retreating.
As of Friday, 50 Cent has not responded directly to Shields’ latest comments. For Papoose and Shields, the stance is clear: they are prepared to go round-for-round with one of hip-hop’s most notorious antagonists.
