Travis Hunter Disputes Ian Rapoport ‘Full-time CB’ Report

Breaking news: Travis Hunter has entered the chat, and he’s not here for the narrative.

So here’s what happened. NFL insider Ian Rapoport dropped a report suggesting that Hunter might be shifting into a more “traditional” role, focusing mainly on cornerback. You know, because apparently playing both offense and defense at a high level is just too much fun and needed to be toned down.

Well, Travis saw that report and trashed it.

Hunter quickly pushed back, making it clear that nobody told him about this supposed position switch. Imagine waking up, scrolling your phone, and finding out your entire football identity has been reassigned like a group project.

The former Heisman winner has addressed those claims. He took to X to directly dispute Rapoport’s report.

“Now who told you this?” Hunter wrote, followed by a thinking emoji. This response appears to cast doubt on the initial report. One of this generation’s rare talents may continue to operate as he did in college football.

Hunter has made it clear since the 2025 NFL Draft process that he fully intends to play both sides of the ball. He is a true blue-chip talent who has showcased his brilliance since entering the league.

The concern lies in his long-term durability. Playing both ways not only makes recovery between games more difficult, but also increases the risk of injury due to a higher snap count.

At the end of the day, Travis Hunter isn’t just a player, he’s a show. And right now, he’s making it clear that the show isn’t changing anytime soon.

So if you were hoping to see less of him on the field, sorry. Looks like you’re getting the full experience.

Grab your popcorn because this two-way debate is just getting started.
