Kris Humphries, Kim Kardashian’s ex-husband, traded his basketball equipment for fried chicken.
Since retiring from the NBA in 2017, the former athlete—who was married to the reality personality for 72 days in 2011—has avoided the spotlight. He currently operates several Dave’s Hot Chicken locations in Minnesota.
According to the US Sun, he stated:
“Since I’ve stepped away from the game, I’m trying to stay under the radar and work on a new phase of my life,”
“I’ve been developing some business ventures,” “I’m familiar with the area and went to Hopkins High School; we used to come over to the mall a lot after school,” “So I thought it would be cool to do the first one near where I used to go to school,”
One year after signing to develop ten franchises across Minnesota, Humphries, 41, opened his first restaurant in his own state in 2023.
According to the Business Journal, he committed to opening thirty stores in the Twin Cities as of last September. Since then, the former cast member of “Keeping Up With the Kardashians” has shifted the focus of his lifestyle-themed Instagram posts to his business ventures.
Humphries has also appeared to be active with his fast-food franchises, as seen by his frequent appearances in many locations and his participation in hot chicken competitions.
The businessman began his 13-year NBA career in 2004 when he joined with the Utah Jazz, and he played his last game with the Atlanta Hawks in 2017.
