Savannah James probably woke up expecting a normal day. Maybe some coffee, maybe some family time or maybe scrolling through her phone for memes. Instead, she discovered that her husband, LeBron James, apparently had a very specific dating rule if he ever became single again.
The NBA superstar mentioned that if he were out in the dating streets, he couldn’t see himself dating a stay-at-home woman.
Cue the record scratch, because according to Savannah, this information was brand new to her too.

Imagine finding out your spouse has relationship preferences you never knew existed during an interview watched by millions of people. That’s like discovering your partner hates pineapple on pizza after 20 years of marriage and 17 family pizza nights.
Savannah’s reaction was priceless. She basically had the energy of, “Oh really? Interesting. Tell me more about this man I married.”
The internet, of course, immediately clocked in for work.
Relationships are funny like that. You can know someone’s favorite food, favorite movie, and shoe size for years and still discover a completely new opinion out of nowhere.
LeBron likely meant no disrespect. He was speaking hypothetically about an imaginary single life that probably isn’t happening anytime soon.
Still, hypothetical conversations have started real arguments since the beginning of time. Ask any married couple.
Questions like, “Would you still love me if I were a worm?” have caused more damage than tax season.
Thankfully, Savannah seemed to take it all in stride.
After all, when you’ve survived NBA pressure, championship celebrations, media headlines, and internet detectives analyzing every facial expression, one surprising dating preference probably isn’t enough to shake the foundation.
