NBA Legend Shaquille O’Neal Is Now An FBI Special Agent

Shaquille O’Neal has officially added another wild title to his already ridiculous resume.

NBA legend, Hall of Famer, Businessman, DJ, Police officer, and now, apparently, FBI Special Agent.

At this point, Shaq’s résumé is starting to look like someone clicked “add career” one too many times.

FBI Director Kash Patel announced that the former Los Angeles Lakers superstar was named an honorary FBI Special Agent after graduating from the FBI National Academy’s Session 299.

Yes, you read that correctly. The same man who spent his NBA career dunking on defenders is now getting an FBI badge. Somewhere, a suspect is probably reconsidering every bad decision they have ever made.

Shaq attended the FBI National Academy, a program designed to provide advanced training to law enforcement professionals. His honorary appointment gives him another impressive line to add to a career that already includes basketball championships, television appearances, acting roles, business ventures and plenty of memorable internet moments.

And let’s be honest, if Shaq shows up at your door wearing an FBI jacket, you are probably answering immediately.

“This session is historic – FBI was honored to be joined by one of the best supporters of law enforcement in the country – Shaquille O’Neal – who graduated with this session and became an honorary FBI Special Agent,” Patel announced on X.

This recognition is far from the first time O’Neal has worked alongside law enforcement.

The four-time NBA champion has maintained a strong interest in police work for decades.

During his playing career, he completed police training and served with several departments.

The former NBA superstar has always had an unusual relationship with law enforcement, so this new honor did not exactly come out of nowhere.

In 2005, while playing for the Miami Heat, O’Neal was sworn in as a Miami Beach reserve police officer after undergoing training. He had previously served as a reserve officer in Los Angeles and later joined the Doral Police Department as a reserve officer in 2015.

O’Neal has repeatedly spoken about his admiration for law enforcement, saying earlier in his career that he wanted to learn the profession rather than simply receive an honorary position because of his fame.

For a man who has already conquered basketball, television and business, Shaq’s latest achievement proves one thing: retirement clearly did not come with instructions to slow down.
