The NBA season ended last month, but it’s never to early to begin speculating and discussing the 2013 regular season, even thought it’s still some 90 plus days away.
The official 2013-14 NBA regular season hasn’t been released yet, but according to the South Florida Sentinel, the NBA has design on making opening night as dynamic as they can.
Reports suggest that the NBA will open the regular season up with the defending champion Miami Heat. The same night the Heat raise their second straight banner, they will get a visit from Derrick Rose who will see action in his first regular season game in over a year.
According to the preliminary schedule, which is subject to revision, the Heat will open their second consecutive championship defense on Tuesday Oct. 29 at AmericanAirlines Arena against the Bulls.
According to the all-but-finalized draft of the 2013-14 NBA schedule, the Sun Sentinel also has learned that the Heat will visit Staples Center on Dec. 25 to face the Los Angeles Lakers.
The complete schedule should be released next week, but unless the Lakers make some roster changes, they should not be featured on Christmas day.
