Joe Johnson had to take a paternity test to prove that his 6-year-old son Gavin was his. When Maury or someone similar to Maury said he was indeed the father, he agreed to following deal with his baby mother Shannon Beckton.

- $2500 a month in child support
- Private schooling.
- Medical insurance.
- Extracurricular activities.
According to the legal documents Johnson will be paying around $100k a month to Beckton and if he happens to be traded to another team, he has to pay for all the same things again (house, car, moving expenses and etc).
