Anthony Edwards had declared himself an All-Star previous season, signaling his rise in the NBA. However, not only have fans and commentators praised his campaign leading the Minnesota Timberwolves this year, but current league superstars have also praised it. Giannis Antetokounmpo was actually gushing over the up-and-coming rookie guard’s supremacy on the court.
Injuries have kept Antetokounmpo out of action as the NBA playoffs approach. He most recently appeared with his brother Thanasis on Thanalysis Live, where he was asked to list a few players from the league he enjoyed watching or competing against.
LeBron James, Kevin Durant, Victor Wembanyama, Luka Doncic, Nikola Jokic, and Stephen Curry were among the players the Greek Freak mentioned.
Giannis Antetokounmpo speaks about Anthony Edwards
The Bucks star did, however, save some special remarks for Anthony Edwards, whose play this season has seemingly captivated him. Giannis said,
“I love Anthony Edwards man. I love him man. Like he’s playing both ways. He’s playing the right way, he plays to win and you know it translates on the court. I think [he is] the number one in the West, [or] number two in the West,”
When evaluating the Timberwolves, who have been strong challengers for the top seed in the Western Conference, the Greek Freak was not too far off.
Anthony Edwards is the type of player who can contribute versatility to the team. In addition to his ability to score easily from the wing, he is a defensive player who can play against cover guards and forwards on the court. To that you can add Ant-Man’s spectacular dunks, which are featured in the media nearly every other month.
