In the latest twist in the ongoing Mayweather vs. Pacquiao contract negotiations long time Pacquiao promoter Bob Arum has pulled out of the negotiations.

This all started on Wednesday when Golden Boy and Mayweather represent ivies Richard Schaefer canceled last minute trip to Dallas to meet with Jerry Jones about holding the fight in Cowboys Stadium.

Since that time according to Arum Schaefer eliminated Atlanta and New Orleans as possible locations.  Manny Pacquiao eliminated LA for tax reasons.

According to this quote from Arum either the fight will be in the MGM Grand or not at all:

“Jerry Jones had been very good about it. He canceled an appointment that he had and changed his whole schedule around. Schaefer sent me a new draft of the contract and he says to me that it has to be at the MGM Grand and nowhere else. Why?” asked Arum.

Arum has turned over negotiations to a colleague at Top Rank.

One thing I can say is the fight hasn’t even been officially been announced and it has had more drama than any fight that I have ever seen in my lifetime.

As always I will keep you informed.
