Manny Pacquiao: “Negotiations are Ongoing for Mayweather Fight”

by Robert Littal | Posted on Thursday, November 24th, 2011

The good news for a May 5th fight contracts would have to be signed before February, so there is time. The bad news until then the back and forth between the camps will become pretty annoying.

I wish no one would say anything until a deal was done, but that is wishful thinking.

Pacquiao has made it clear though he would like the fight.

“Negotiations are ongoing for my fight with Mayweather, but nothing is final. Mayweather may be thinking, I can fight Pacquiao now because he had trouble against Marquez, and I was able to beat up Marquez. This is what boxing fans are waiting for”

Marquez gives Pacquiao a ton of trouble, so I can see how Floyd might thing this is the best time to fight Pac. Mayweather an expert counter puncher and defensive specialist would present major issues for Manny.

One thing that we can’t forget is the reason Pacquiao got the decision against Marquez is because of his activity level.

Judges like Pacquiao because he is normally the aggressor, it could be the way he wins a decision against Mayweather.

That is all speculation as of now, I still wouldn’t hold my breath about the fight happening any time soon.
