I wouldn’t take any running back high in the NFL draft.
Has nothing to do with how talented the player is, but more about the historical evidence that no matter how great a running back is, the position isn’t integral to winning a Super Bowl.
The Giants for example were last in the league in rushing.
The NFL leading rusher last year was Maurice Jones Drew and the Jaguars went 5-11.
I think Trent Richardson is a monster and he will be a great player wherever he goes, but he won’t be the difference in a team taking it to the next level and it is likely there will be a running back drafted late or not drafted at all that will be just as productive.
But very hard not to be impressed with this.
