Chris Webber Owes IRS $119,000 In Unpaid Taxes
In a time period when so many athletes are fiscally irresponsible, this was one story that I felt would not have a horrible ending.
TMZ.com is reporting that former NBA star and current TNT analyst Chris Webber recently had a tax lien placed against him by the state of California for $118,930.97.
According to TMZ, California court documents state that Webber owes the state for unpaid taxes from the last few months of 2008 and all of 2009. The initial amount was for $81,427.36. That number grew to over $100,000 in late fees and interest.
This should only be an oversight on Webber’s part since he has been getting money since his FAB FIVE, Ed Martin days.
While doing some research on celebnetworth.org, I found out Webber made over $178 million in NBA earning alone.
Webber also owns a successful capital investment firm.
Basketball earnings aside Webber earns a nice salary from Turner Broadcasting and I’m sure this situation will be resolved shortly.

Uh, it looks like you have the story title twisted. He either owes California in back state taxes or he owes the IRS (which is Federal taxes).
