Harvard Basketball Player Kyle Casey Leaving School Amid Cheating Accusations

Well I guess cheating goes on at the highest of academic institutions also.

The Big Lead via Sports Illustrated is reporting that Harvard University basketball player Kyle Casey is leaving the school amid accusations that he has been involved in a academic cheating scandal.

Casey the team’s leading returning scorer is a Senior for the Crimson.

On Aug. 30, Harvard College announced in a letter that its administrative board was investigating allegations that approximately 125 undergraduates “may have committed acts of academic dishonesty, ranging from inappropriate collaboration to outright plagiarism, on a take-home final exam.” The exam was for Government 1310: Introduction to Congress, a spring 2012 class with an enrollment of 279. Sources said that Casey, Curry and one additional men’s basketball player are among a group of athletes and non-athletes whose cases are pending review. They are facing charges of academic dishonesty that could carry a one-year suspension from school.

Harvard head coach Tommy Amaker has yet to comment or respond to the allegations.

Reports say that the degree of cheating that went on are,”unprecedented in its scope and magnitude.”

The Harvard football team is also set to be affected by the cheating as well.
