Despite taking a loss at the hand of Peyton Manning and the Denver Broncos, the Baltimore Ravens clinched their playoff spot this past Sunday.
One might think the team would be pleased and thinking they have a positive outlook on the rest of the season now that they know they’re going to the playoffs.
Apparently though, that isn’t the case according to Joe Flacco.
Per Baltimoreravens.com: “We’re a 9-5 football team, and it feels like we’re 0-14 right now. But that’s just the feeling that you have right after a game like this,” said Flacco.
“We believe we’re pretty stand-up guys, tough guys, guys with character,” Flacco said. “We’re going to be able to look at ourselves in the mirror when this thing is all said and done and honestly say that we are those type of guys or that we’re not those type of guys. I believe that we are, and you’re going to be able to see that over the next six, seven weeks, however long we have left.”
Despite clinching a playoff berth, teams want to be playing their best football headed into the post-season.
I understand where Flacco is coming from. As the quarterback, it’s on him to pull the team together.
