Jrue Holiday is fatigued, and so the Sixers went out and got him some help, I guess. The Star Ledger is reporting that the 76ers have signed guard Jeremy Pargo to a 10 day contract.
Shelvin Mack’s second 10-day contract had expired Wednesday night, and the team didn’t want to sign Mack for the remainder of the season, nor handicap themselves towards the trade deadline.
Pargo will backup Holiday and allow him to get some rest. Doug Collins released a brief statement on the matter.
“Jeremy we think can play pick and roll. We think he can pressure the ball up the floor, give us some speed,” Collins said. “I’m hoping that I can play he and Jrue together to get Jrue off the ball a little bit and also get Jrue’s minutes down a little bit.
“Jrue to me is playing a little bit fatigued right now,” Collins said. “I don’t know as much physically as mentally. He’s had to carry so much of a load for us.”
It’s a decent pickup in my opinion. Not a game changing signing or anything that will change the Sixers fortunes. Just decent.
