Honey Badger didn’t play very in that game and maybe now we know why. It doesn’t look like he was mentally or physically ready to play, according to some recent quotes from ESPN The Magazine.

According to the profile, Mathieu was so disinterested leading up to that game that he spent 14 hours a day sleeping in the team hotel, and he told his girlfriend, “I don’t even want to play.”

There were a lot of red flags with Honey Badger, even before his insensitive tweet about the Boston Bombings or admitting he failed over 10 drug tests while at LSU.

He says he has to chew tobacco now, as an alternative to weed. That means he is only one step away from being back on marijuana.  I think it is a positive thing Honey Badger is being so honest, but there is a big risk involved in drafting him.

The best way to lessen the risk, is to not take him too early in the draft.  If he gets drafted, in say the 2nd round, what lesson did he really learn?

If he is a 4-5th round pick that has to earn his way on the roster, I think there is a far better chance that he will stay clean, but it is 50/50 at best, because only Tyrann knows, if he has really changed.
