Gay athletes and how they would be treated by teammates has become the ultimate topic the past few months, and everyone from each major sport has voiced or has an opinion on the matter.
Indianapolis Colts star quarterback was on CNN recently, and was asked to give his opinion on the topic. Luck stated that a “gay teammate would be just one of the guys to him.”
“I hope if someone’s thinking about [coming out], that if they do come out as gay and it makes them happy and it makes their life easier, then I think they should do it,” Colts quarterback Andrew Luck told CNN, via theindychannel.com. “My first reaction is really good for him. . . .
“It’s the 21st century, and I know I would have absolutely no problem with it. I hope no one would treat him any differently than any straight player, no special treatment — he’s just another guy.”
The question now is what active gay NFL player will have the courage to come out while still having to enter an NFL lockerroom.
