Lawrence Moten didn’t do much in the NBA, but who can forget the kid from Washington, D.C. who dominated The Big East with his long socks and akward but deadly game.
Moten was a smooth swingman, able to play small forward or shooting guard for Jim Boeheim and Syracuse, from 1991 to 1995.
Moten who is Syracuse’s and The Big East all time leading scorer at 1,405 points, will have his jersey retired at an undetermined date some time this coming season according to Syracuse.com.
“Hopefully it will be a Duke game,” Moten said Wednesday night. “It’s one of the biggest games on the schedule. I envision them putting the court in the middle of the Dome. It’s just my vision.”
Moten’s jersey ceremony will come on the heals of the university and athletic department switching over to the ACC.
