Lennox claims he was offered $50 million to fight Wladimir, but after saying he would do it, changed his mind and now wants $100 million according to Boxing Scene.
“That is my price tag and it is under discussion,” Lewis told the Daily Mail. “I have told them I can be ready in six months and I am in provisional training.
“I said at the time that it will take [50 million dollars] to get me out of my pajamas but now I have to consider the value of my legacy of having retired as undisputed champion. That will cost them [$100 million dollars].”
Lennox is 48 years old and hasn’t fought in 10 years. Ironically, his last fight was against Wladimir’s brother Vitali. Vitali was winning the fight until a nasty cut force the fight to be stopped. Since the cut was ruled to be caused from a punch, that gave Lennox the victory.
He retired shortly thereafter and I don’t expect him to be coming out of retirement, since no one is giving him $100 million.
